Question by =: 14 year old – offering lawn mowing and weed control?
I am 14 and want to make some extra money. As its spring here i thought i could offer to lawn mow and control weeds, for like £3.50 an hour… What do you think of this notice? Do you think anyone will want my services?

yeah, sounds great, go for it!
You might end up doing oap’s gardens, where they can’t do it themselves, or end up with some lazy person that can’t be bothered to do it for themselves!

That sounds all well and good, but to really make any money from it, you may want to offer a flat rate. I use to mow lawns, and charged depending on how large their property was. $20 for a small/medium lawn. $35 for a larger yard. If the residents are elderly, or just older, they usually do not mind paying for such services, as long as you are professional and take your time to do a good job. Hey, if they enjoyed your work, they may even make a habbit of paying you to do it weekly.
Only do it if you are totally dedicated though.

Yes, but dont say “girl” on your advert, it might attract some perverts. Just say “student” or something similar. And beyond that it really depends on the neighborhoods as to whether your services will be needed. Good luck though! Hard work is always a good idea!
