It seems like people want to have a nice yard or deck, but you can’t count on having a nice dinner outside because you never know when the high volume mega-mowers will start up. Can’t they put mufflers on them? Do you experience similar situations?

umm dude usually dinner is at night and I’m pretty sure most people don’t mow there yards at 8ish p.m. so you don’t have to worry about super duper high volume mega-mowers of death and doom. buy ya i agree with you. when your outside enjoying your day when you worked hard making your yard look nice but then something is super noisy happens, it just ruins you mood
I don’t know how much yard you have to work with or what part of the country you live in, however if you plant tall shrubs and things like banana plants or elephant ears the leaves will give you some privacy and the shrubs will help cut some of the noise. I live in a nice mobile home community and am surrounded by other people and their music, lawn mowers, kids playing in the street. the plants have helped. Also just learned a trick from this forum, use bath water, dish water and laundry water for the yard and plants. it saves money and water. the soap actually fertilizers the plants
Especially barking Dogs. Drives Me crazy. I have trained My German Shepard to not bark at every little thing. You could install a water feature, near Your dining area, to muffle some of the noise. even the cakle of a firepit would help.
I hate the guys who ride their ATVs and motorcycles up and down our street. I wish I could blow them up. do they realize how irritating and annoying their noise is and that maybe only they enjoy it because we sure don’t. And then there are the guys with their big trucks and loud mufflers.
