After reading a review here that somebody bought this item and it snaped after the first cut I still bought it. What a mistake that was, after giving it the benefit of the doubt, being made of solid aluminum, no sooner did I try to snap through the little branch the pruner broke, not the solid aluminum but the plastic part connecting it. Take it from me, this is a flawed product and you're better off with the all plastic lower model with still 3X the cutting power and cheaper.

this model. fiskers #9277 is great. the only exception is that it's easier to use right handed.

I bought these pruners to clip smaller branches from tree limbs. The FIRST time I squeezed the handle on a very unassuming branch (well under 3/4 inch), I broke the large, plastic orange knob in two places. Dont know what to say but I was shocked. Very disappointed in this cheap product.

Overall these are good. I like that they are all metal and the cutting action is easy to squeeze and they do the job well.

The first complaint I have is that the return spring is way too weak, it returns back to the open position too slowly and usually not all the way. If any bit of dirt or grass gets in there then you have to pull it open after each cut.

The second complaint I have is the lower handle twists... It makes no sense why this happens and is quite annoying. it would be good if it floated so that it's always in the most comfortable portion of your holding positing... but it doesn't, it rotates 90 degrees as you squeeze the handles closed.

Overall it's a decent set.. but not the quality I would expect from Fiskars
